Humanism explores all of humanity as one group, recognizing the common features and behaviors of humans.

We are all human.

The humanism movement gains strength when concerned, thinking people see division, turmoil, tribal war and chaos emerge.

The meaning of the word humanism and its Greek and Latin predecessors is up for debate. It has been argued about and captured by many groups of people wishing to cast their own group meaning to the word. Its meaning is very high level and complicated. It is not a word that can be easily paraphrased or subjected to simple definitions. It is a word that is setting out to describe the highest levels of thought, reason, appreciation, cooperation and positive ideals while recognizing and incorporating the inherent challenges and difficult choices facing human beings.

My frame for humanism sees all humans as one group – represented by the stick figure. I also have a video file.

Humans thrive in groups and with some constraints. This is represented by the Square symbol. I hypothesize that the concept of Nation – with its laws, physical boundaries, language, culture and other features is a very useful cooperation structure that allows humans to learn from regression to the mean, contrasted and compared with various extremes present in other nations. Cooperation has driven human success.

The circle represents everything else – planet earth and everything on it which is not a human. It also includes the solar system and the universe.

I have collated material from freely available sources and grouped them into framework which I believe will be useful in assessing and making sense of the information.
