Jonathan Pearson

I was born in Penang to an Australian airforce (RAAF) family. We moved around every year until 1969 when we came to Canberra.

I have lived in Canberra ever since. I went to Australian National University for one year and struggled with Physics and ended up joining the public service at the Australian Bureau of Statistics. This was a good training ground as we transitioned from mainframe computers using Hollerith cards to desktop computers.

I joined the Australian Taxation office some years later working on a modernization project. I was involved for over 30 years in the Australian public service on major projects, new technology and change eventually ending up as a systems architect.

I was required to think and understand new and complex things all the time – my opinion was sought after.

I married and had two children and then divorced and experienced 10 years of Family Court and Child support systems. I have also recently experienced the ACT Magistrates court domestic violence systems. I have developed some key insights into systemic issues with humans, bias, dogma, morality, ignorance and legislation.

I am motivated to improve human abilities and lives worldwide and address the systemic problems which we could avoid if we chose to.
